Westrand Youth Development is an NGO focused on empowering the youth by providing them with needed skills, knowledge and possibly, when necessary or required, facilities to efficiently exist in the world of today.

Such an organization is a brainchild of founder Mr Mooketsi Andrew who was influenced by the sad discovery of a high lacking for institutions that cater for the development needs of the youths in the West Rand. There’s no denying that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow, therefore nothing could be more critical than empowering them, by doing so we securing the future of our country.

This organization focuses on SPORTS & RECREATION, SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, HEALTH & FOOD DISTRIBUTION, and ARTS & CULTURE and HUMAN RIGHTS. These are the identified aspects of youth development that the organisation believes can propel young people towards a positive way of life.

WRYD believes that the youth suffers so much due to the fact that not so many of them are being listened to, because of this so much of the youth don’t get the opportunity to exercise their full potential. We at WRYD we listen to the youth and their ideas and therefore use our resources to bring them to life.

THE VISION A society that is free of all HIV related illnesses, and has countless economic opportunities for the youth. THE MISSION To accelerate the 90/90/90 strategy objectives through provision of HIV/TB & STI screening services, intensified linkage to care systems and promotion of HIV prevention methods. To provide the youth with information and skills they can utilise to become active participants in the country’s economy.
